Mulberry hosts star-studded NY party

Mulberry has a habit of storming New York fashion week. A year ago it was Florence and the Machine's newsworthy gig on the rooftop of Soho House, last night, to celebrate its 40th birthday and a new store opening on Spring, it flew in Kasabian to entertain the troops at the Rooftop Skylight West. So loud did they rock the crowd that the NYPD pitched up and did a bit of storming themselves at the DJ booth. And our guess was they weren't requesting Take That.

Music back on, Alexa Chung, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rose Byrne, Solange Knowles and Alexander Skarsgaard partied to DJs Harley Viera Newton and Andrew Bevan.

Speaking to creative director Emma Hill in a more sober environment at the new store on Saturday she wasn't giving away any hints, not one, about what Mulberry has in store for its spring/summer collection, to be shown in London next week. But she was able to enthuse about the city she lived in for 14 years, 'It's home from home and I love going to Cafe Cluney on West 12, all the bookstores and stocking up on those zip-lock bags you can't get back hom
