Thakoon brings out the cowgirls at NYFW

But something in the grand surroundings of the Plaza ballroom gave the illusion of Oscar Thakoon, Timeless Thakoon. But this season was the turn of a Bollywood western to awaken our senses.

Traditional Indian silks were used to edge iconic cowboy pieces like the denim jacket, with Paisley brocade on Maharaja waistcoats and pearl and crystal embroidery on khaki duster coats. The fusion of cultures mixed the elaborately intricate with hard-wearing utility, resulting in a surprisingly (again) feminine marriage. The most interesting shapes came from the mix of stiff men's shirts over flirty swing skirts or those lovely printed cigarette pants. Truly one cannot second guess Thakoon.
