Mr Porter and the art of dapper disrobing

The dapper men of New York and great drives around the globe sound fine, but what really made us smile when we spotted it on Racked was a feature called How to Undress in Front of a Lady. Required reading for any man who has ever found himself fettered by double-knotted shoelaces or a bulky watch at just the wrong moment, its a four-step guide to stripping as suavely as possible.

Step One: remove accessories firsteven the hat. Step Two: start from the top and work your way down, taking time to unroll your sleeves as you go (because if youre shopping at Mr Porter, theyre probably pretty expensive sleeves). Sit down to remove the trousers in Step Three. And finally, Step Four:

The pants issue is something we women talk about more than men imagine. My female friends cite a mans poor taste in underwear as something of a date-night deal breaker, so take note and take care when choosing them. Keep them neat, plan and cleancartoon characters have no place in your trousers. When it comes to removing them, leave it till the time seems right.
