The fashion set are nothing if not supportive, so we weren't shocked to spot a good few safety-pinned pleated kilts on the day of Chopova Lowena's first-ever runway show. But the sheer volume of the skirt – and fabulously different ways of styling it – made us really sit up and pay attention. The skinny jean is dead, leaving space for just about every other style of denim to enjoy its moment in the spotlight. Biker Groove
Biker leathers were all over both the runways and the streets this season, in what seems to be a sartorial backlash to the rise of Barbiecore. Gone were the bright pinks that have been everywhere the past few months – instead, it was all about the tough-girl vibes with black leather trousers, jackets, stompy boots and a few spikes and exposed metal zippers.
Precious Cargo
Cargo pants might be one of the biggest trends of AW22, but the street style set seemed more interested in their cheeky 'little sister' this season: the cargo skirt. Whether long or mini, khaki or beige, it's the perfect transitional style staple that can be paired with everything from a classic white tee or crop top to an oversized knit and knee-high boots.
