The great seasonal wardrobe switch is upon us. As the leaves start to change, so do our wardrobes, and we undertake the task of packing away our summer dresses and sandals, and pulling out all the heavy coats, winter boots and autumn dresses we need for the months ahead.

Alongside the logistical switcheroo, this is as good a time as any to take stock of new trends, to see how you can incorporate them into your wardrobe, either with some key investments, or by re-embracing and re-stying of the pieces you already own.

Halfway through the SS22 fashion month and with London Fashion Week drawing to a close, it's very clear that 'Kelly green' is a predominant colour story, and one that you can road test right away.

Seen most notably at Supriya Lele in the form of sheer wrap dresses and skirts, plus opaque cut-out trousers, at Rejina Pyo on shirts, midi dresses and handbags and at Molly Goddard on her delicate wrap-ankle ballet flats, the bold hue can be injected into every part of an outfit.

This isn't the first we've seen of Kelly green of course, as Bottega Veneta embraced the colour a little while ago, even drenching their entire set green to open the SS21 show, as well as making it the brand's packaging hue.

The street style stars of Copenhagen's recent fashion week, ever trend-focussed, appear similarly enamoured with green, while Attico's bright green Devon mules and The Frankie Shop's Melody shirt just can't stay in stock.

But, it's Lele and Pyo's Kelly green colour combinations that truly have our interest piqued, with both of the Brit-based designers styling the colour with bright orange and earthy brown tones.

While we also saw it paired with fuchsia, lilac, sky blue, black and white on the runways, dressing it down with moody browns or up with bold orange is the 1970s-esque styling trick we're taking away to try now.
