Sherbet shades of pink, mint, lemon and powder blue dominated the catwalks at London Fashion Week, as the citys edgiest designers focused on pastels for spring. Knitwear maestro Louise Goldins chic silhouettes and sharp edges were softened and made ultra-feminine in pastel hues, (inspired in no small part by 1980s Gianni Versace) while Luellas lady-like looks came in clashing sherbet shades that popped from the catwalk. For many London designers the focus on pastels simply continued their obsession with the 1980s, but Jonathan Saunders used them to continue his signature exploration of colour, producing one of the chicest and most grown-up collections of the week with his fitted paneled pastel dresses and tailoring.
