It’s a trying time for many of us, no longer able to connect with friends and family, with few ways to keep our brains busy (there’s only so many times we can stream Queer Eye on Netflix).

However, fashion brands and stores, used to offering seasonal inspiration when it comes to our wardrobes, are now channelling their creativity elsewhere and inspiring us in new ways. From live-streamed cooking classes to celebrity Q&As, as well as podcasts to play while we fire off emails, here are all the ways to connect with your favourite brands and boutiques during lockdown.

Miu Miu is offering us a distraction with a series of conversations recorded during the Venice Film Festival, as well as a short film directed by Mati Diop.

The film, titled In My Room, is a follow-up to Diop's critically-acclaimed, French feature-length hit Atlantics.

Diop features in the series of conversations that took place IRL in Venice, hosted by The Gentlewoman editor-in-chief Penny Martin, discussing how to visualise hope in cinema (we could all do with some of that).

You can watch snippets of the conversation, and others featuring Emma Corrin, Francesca Hayward and Raffey Cassidy, on Miu Miu's Instagram, with the full discussions coming soon.
