What do you think of when we say 'festival fashion'? Flower crowns? Faux-boho fringing? Questionable crochet? All of the above? We thought so.

Over the last decade, festival fashion has become less cool and a whole lot more cliché. But it doesn't have to be. Here we show you six ways to channel the latest trends into your 2017 festival wardrobe and how to accessorise them to perfection with the latest pieces from UNOde50, whose Regent Street store is a treasure trove of festival-friendly jewels.

And there's not a flower crown in sight, we promise.

1. Say yes to a tea dress

Looking for a totally fuss-free festival look? Opt for a pretty tea dress. The short and sweet style has been enjoying a resurgence thanks to our reignited love of all things '90s and grunge - think Kate Moss in her glory days - and it's best served simply. A pair of trusty Converse hi-tops (super practical for conquering the festival fields) and some statement jewellery is all you need to take your slip from dance floor to dance field. Pile your bracelets high with a multi strand style, like UNOde50's colourful Tricola, and add dainty, silver earrings for extra detail.

2. Try a logo tee + dungaree dress

Thanks to Gucci reigniting the trend, logo T-shirts have been making quiet the impact. The trend is still going strong for festival season, so wear your tee loud and proud. After all, a festival is the place to make a statement. The perfect partner? We love a denim dungaree dress and this H&M number is a bargain and you'll get plenty of use out of it, even when you're away from the festival field. Simply add a classic Chelsea boot, like this pair from All Saints, and chunky silver jewellery for a laid-back look.

3. Pack some gingham

Our love affair with gingham continues, and it's ideal for festival season thanks to its country-cool vibe. For maximum impact, wear it head-to-toe via a super easy co-ord set (if you're not a skirt person, opt for some on point frill-hemmed trousers). Add your favourite gladiator sandals — Alexander Wang's are the dream — and tie the look together with UNOde50's silver jewellery.

4. Count on a jumpsuit

No need for any fashion maths here; a jumpsuit is the ultimate throw-on-and-go piece. Investing in a great one will see you through countless 'I have nothing to wear' moments, and it's invaluable as part of a festival wardrobe. Whether you opt for block colour or print, keep the silhouette relaxed – the key to perfect wardrobe is always comfort. Just add espadrille sandals, a statement hat and relaxed jewellery for a low-key, non-clichéd look. The simplicity of the outfit means you can go bold with jewellery – earrings, rings, bracelet, the lot.

5. Embrace the vinyl

We saw vinyl macs all over the streets during the last round of fashion weeks - and vinyl trousers may just be your summer festival saviour. Admittedly, you'll want to leave the vinyl at home if you're festivalling somewhere hot (sweaty legs are not the one). But this is an excellent choice for Brit festivals when the weather is less than sunny. See Alexa Chung at Glastonbury for further proof. Team with a simple tee, flats and a smattering of gold jewellery.

6. Rework your maxi dress

The maxi dress has been given a new lease of life this season, worn not alone but as a layer. Wear over your failsafe denim cut-offs on a sunny day, or over your favourite jeans for cooler weather. Add sturdy ankle boots and you've got the the perfect way to toughen up a floaty dress that once seemed better suited to the beach. A wrap style works best, allowing your shorts or jeans to peek through. Keep jewellery subtle, a statement ring and fine necklace is all you need.
