While the majority of The Weeknd's six-track album My Dear Melancholy seems to be focused on his most recent ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez and his heartbreak over her, The Weeknd devoted one track to his other ex, Bella Hadid. The one he almost reconciled with in November and could still—if these lyrics hint anything!

"Wasted Times" seems to be his lyrical musing about how much he misses his ex Hadid. That said, the song is written by Skrillex, Frank Dukes, Starrah and The Weeknd so all their experiences could have collectively inspired the track.

Here, a deep dive of the lyrics, via Genius, and all the possible Hadid references:

Wasted times I spent with someone else
She wasn't even half of you

The Weeknd and Gomez dated for 10 months and got together just two months after The Weeknd and Hadid ended things. In February 2017, shortly after The Weeknd and Gomez made their public debut, Hadid made it clear she wasn't over The Weeknd to Teen Vogue. "It was my first breakup—or second, next to the horse—and so public," the model admitted. "As an outsider, you might think I handled it so well, but it's always in your heart, and you always feel it very heavily. It'll be hard for a while. Love hurts, but you have to pull through."

Reminiscin' how you felt
Reminiscin' how you felt
And even though you put my life through hell

People reported that the couple's relationship ended because The Weeknd wanted to focus on his career. “Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate, and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album,” a source told the outlet. “They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends.” It's unclear how bad the distance made things in the lead-up to their breakup.

I can't seem to forget 'bout you, 'bout you
I want you to myself

Chorus:

And now I'm askin', who do you belong to now?
Who you give that love to now?
Who you pullin' up on?
Who you gettin' sprung for now?
And what they got that I ain't got? 'Cause I got a lot
Don't make me run up on 'em, got me blowin' up their spot
'Cause I ain't got no business catchin' feelings anyway
I ain't got no business catchin' feelings

Hadid has been single since breaking up with The Weeknd. In June of last year, she told InStyle that dating wasn't a priority: "When you're happy, you want to eat and experience and enjoy life. I'm there! And I'm eating, and I'm living! And I've gained a couple pounds, but I'm good!"

She's also shut down rumors of her dating other people. When paparazzi photos surfaced of her with male model Jordan Barnett, she responded on Twitter that they were just friends:

Text, Product, Font, Line, Screenshot, Icon, Logo, pinterest
Twitter

She also laughed off rumors that she was hooking up with Kendall Jenner's ex Jordan Clarkson:

Skin, Beauty, Product, Lip, Website, Photography, Media, Photo caption, Screenshot, Fashion accessory, pinterest
Twitter

When Drake threw her 21st birthday party, rumors swirled for a moment, too. That led to a Page Six report that The Weeknd and him were "beefing" over Hadid. But these days, if Hadid is dating casually, the public doesn't know who.

Verse 2:

Catchin' feelings
These girls only want you when you're winnin' (winnin')
But you've been with me from the beginnin' (ooh, yeah, yeah)

Dating rumors with Hadid and The Weeknd first started in April 2015, when he was releasing Beauty Behind the Madness and asked Hadid to model for the cover art. Hadid would go on to star in his music video "In the Night."

Hadid was with him before he had his major 2016 Grammy night success (seven nominations, two wins, his first-ever)—which was the night they went red carpet official with their relationship. “It was a big night for him,” Hadid told Glamour in its September 2016. “He has worked so hard, and he did so well that night. As a girlfriend I wanted to be there to support him. Seeing him so happy when he won a Grammy made me so happy.”

And I know right now that we're not talkin' (not talkin')

Hadid unfollowed Selena Gomez on Instagram immediately after photos of her and The Weeknd making out surfaced. The Weeknd unfollowed Hadid in March 2017. She was slower to unfollow The Weeknd but, did so in April 2017.

I hope you know this dick is still an option
'Cause I'll beat it up (I'll beat it up, yeah)

The Weeknd and Hadid did end up talking and meeting November 14. The Weeknd was photographed leaving Hadid's apartment. Around that time, E! and Entertainment Tonight reported reconciliation was possible. "He has expressed to her that he loves her still, and they will always have a real connection," a source told the outlet. He also apologized for hurting her in the past."

I'll take my time to learn the way your body functions
You were equestrian, so ride it like a champion (I'll beat it)

Hadid was a nationally-ranked horseback rider who once had Olympic ambitions. "My devotion stemmed from my mom's love of horses. I have been riding since I could walk and the fact that my mom knew everything about horses really helped my passion grow," Hadid told Porter in October 2015 of riding. She still posts Instagrams of herself with her horses on occasion:

This sex will get you high without no other substance

Chorus:

So who do you belong to now? (Who do you belong to now?)
Who you give that love to now? (Who you give that love to now?)
Who you pullin' up on?
Who you gettin' sprung for now? (Who you gettin' sprung for now?)
And what they got that I ain't got? 'Cause I got a lot (I got a lot)
Don't make me run up on 'em, got me blowin' up their spot (blowin' up their spot)
'Cause I ain't got no business catchin' feelings anyway
I ain't got no business catchin' feelings (feelings)

Bridge:

Catchin' feelings
I ain't got no business catchin' feelings
I ain't got no business catchin' feelings
Catchin' fee-fee-fee-fee
Feelings
I ain't got no business catchin' feelings
I ain't got no business catchin' feelings
Catchin' fee-fee-fee-fee

Outro:

Wake up
I don't wanna wake up
I don't wanna wake up
If you ain't layin' next to me

The Weeknd sings about not wanting to catch feelings because of his heartbreak from Gomez. But here, he acknowledges that he still has feeling for Hadid—a sentiment that is echoed in tabloid reports after his meeting with Hadid in November.

I don't wanna wake up
I don't wanna wake up
I don't wanna wake up
If you ain't layin' next to me-e-e
On me, me, on me, oh, I
On me, on me, on me
