Sarah Jessica Parker has commented publicly once more on the alleged 'catfight' between herself and Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall.
Re-affirming that to her mind, there was no 'catfight' between herself and her Sex and the City co-stars, the actress addressed the possibility of a resolution with Kim Cattrall and a third film.
The actress also insisted that she has 'never uttered an unkind, unsupportive, unfriendly word' to Cattrall, and that if Cattrall doesn't want to appear in a SATC sequel, 'we must respect it.'
'I'd just like to remind everybody that there is no catfight. I have never uttered an unkind, unsupportive, unfriendly word, so I would love to redefine it,' SJP told Vulture.
'I also want to remind everybody that there were four women on the set and I spent equal time with all of them, so this was not a set with two women who didn't get along.
'I've always held Kim's work in high regard and always appreciative of her contributions. If she chooses not to do the third movie, there's not a lot I can do to change her mind and we must respect it. That's the only thing I've ever said about it, you know?'
The actress reinforced that there was no on-set fighting between her and Cattrall, and that she's 'never fought with someone publicly in my life.'
And while it's Cattrall's right to speak out about her experience of SATC, SJP doesn't want the show to be 'eclipsed' by something negative.
'There is no catfight, there never has been a catfight,' she continued. 'I've never fought with someone publicly in my life, nor would I.
'And I spent time with all of the women on the set. People need to recall that it wasn't just two women on the set fighting because that just never happened.
'We are enormously proud of what we got to do and I don't want someone sharing thoughts publicly, which is Kim's right to do and that is what it is, but we spent 10, 12 years of our life doing something that I really loved and I feel privileged to be part of and I don't want this to eclipse it or change its experience for that audience that was so good to us for so long.'
A third movie instalment of the original HBO series was set to begin production last year, but Parker has revealed that the studio has now shelved the project, telling Extra: 'It's over. We're not doing it. I'm disappointed.
'We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story.'
Meanwhile, Cattrall claimed she and her SATC cast members – Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon – were never friends, telling Piers Morgan's Life Stories: 'We've never been friends. We've been colleagues, and in some ways it's a very healthy place to be.'
On SJP, Cattrall added: 'This is really where I take to task the people from Sex and the City and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer.
'I really think she could have been nicer. I don't know what her issue is.'
She also said choosing not to reprise her role as Samantha for the film was part of her turning 60, and wishing to spend her time on fresh projects and new ventures instead.
'That was part of turning 60. That was a very clear moment of, how many years do I have left and what do I want to do it, what haven't I done?' she continued.
'I feel that the show is the best when it was the series and the bonus was the two movies.
'I remember so clearly making that decision. Last December I got a phone call and it was concerning that and I knew exactly, I could feel it, and the answer was simply, 'Thank you but no, I'm good.''
Earlier this year, Cattrall hit out at SJP to call her a "hypocrite" after she reached-out over the sad death of Cattrall's brother.
We're not sure a resolution will ever be possible.
