After celebrating Mother’s Day with a portrait of her pregnant self from 14 years ago, as well as an adorable funny note from her daughter, Apple, Gwyneth Paltrow is celebrating her eldest’s birthday.

Paltrow has two children with her ex-husband Chris Martin (who she co-parents with), Apple and Moses.

The Oscar-winner and business woman has brought up her children mostly away from the public eye, rarely giving her fans a glimpse of her adorable children.

Today, however, the actress has given us a rare peek at her progeny.

The mother-of-two posted a picture of a swimming-fresh Apple for her 14th.

In it the blonde teen looks the spit of her mother and grandmother actress Blythe Danner, mixed with a little bit of her rocker dad Martin.

Since last year’s b-day portrait it looks like the California-girl has gained an ear piercing, and we are learning more about her talents and hobbies.

We've known that the Hollywood royal is an accomplished dancer for a while now, with her mother sharing snaps of her daughter in mid-flight in front of a sunset.

However, we have learnt of late that, whilst she may have her mother's looks, she has her father's musical talent.

For her birthday Instagram caption Paltrow wrote, 'Happy birthday, my darling girl. You make everyday feel like Christmas morning. You are the most vibrant, hilarious, twirling all over the place, beautiful (inside and out) young woman. You are an amazing thinker and an incredible songwriter. Thanks for still hanging out with me, even though you are 14.'

By the looks of the Shakespeare In Love star's social media the blonde has been learning from the best - her Coldplay-fronting father.

These are some good genes.
