Several of Meghan Markle’s Suits costars attended the royal wedding on Saturday, cheering their friend on as she married Prince Harry. And one of them was Abigail Spencer, a close friend of Markle's who's been effusive about her relationship with the new Duchess of Sussex.

Markle and Spencer first met at an audition over a decade ago, but they weren’t up for the same part. Later, they spent time together on the set of Suits, where Spencer played Dana Scott and Markle played Rachel Zane. They have stayed close for years, and Spencer has contributed to Markle’s now-defunct site, The Tig.

Spencer, who currently stars on the NBC series Timeless, was photographed at the royal wedding entering the ceremony alongside Priyanka Chopra, and was seated next to Serena Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian.

Like any celebrity with a Markle connection, Spencer has been frequently asked to speak out about her friend, who is newly a member of the royal family. Here are some of the sweetest things Spencer has said about her friend leading up to the big day.

On her pre-royal career:

“She’s had such a glorious and long career, obviously we worked on Suits together, and she’s such a self-made woman. She had her own company, has designed clothing, she’s really phenomenal. She’s done so much work with World Vision and all of her charity efforts. She’s really helped me learn more about things in the world that I need to be more involved in. I think it’s wonderful she has a larger platform to do the work she’s been doing, and I think Harry’s pretty lucky.” —an interview with Extra in March

On her personal style:

“She’s got warm elegance, though her style is hard to pin down. It’s classy and timeless. When you’re talking to her, you feel like you’re the only person on the planet. And it’s just wonderful to see her so in love.” —she told Vanity Fair in September 2017

On her personality:

“I always say everywhere she walks, it’s like, little love notes come out of the bottoms of her feet. She’s just a wonderful friend, and human, very gracious. She has incredible taste, she has really influenced my fashion and taste. We have a lot of similarities in what we like.” —an interview with People in April

On what they have in common:

"We were born on the same day, hours apart, in the same year... she's a trusted friend and one of the most glorious people I have ever met." —she told Entertainment Tonight in May

On Meghan’s future:

“Meghan Markle is one of the loveliest human beings on the planet, in the world. I’m just so excited that the world will get to experience her loveliness, and I really think that with her platform for charity and her fortitude — she’s going to have a great moment to change the world. If anyone can do it, it can be her." —in an interview with People in March
