Seventeen years ago, long before Reese Witherspoon threw an ice cream at Meryl Streep for Big Little Lies, Anne Hathaway smacked an ice cream all over Mandy Moore's chest in the Princess Diaries. The iconic moment and Moore's time playing mean-girl cheerleader Lana was on her mind today when she posted an Instagram from the movie's premiere, tagging Hathaway. 'I guess this film came out just over 17 years ago??' she wrote. '@annehathaway was already a movie star and I showed up to my first premiere in a casual denim suit. Hey, it was 2001!'

Then Hathaway commented on the photo and complimented Moore back. 'That's the face I make when I'm trying not to flop sweat on a terrifically famous pop star. So happy for all that you have going on! Let's get together and throw ice cream at each other soon.'

Moore accepted Hathaway's invite, writing. 'Hello friend! Count me in. It'd be an honour to be coned by you again.'

Perfect. Now just grab some cameras and make it Princess Diaries 3...which was reported to be happening (maybe!?) last year.

Moore has spoken before about whether she'd reprise her role. 'I don't think it would make sense for my character, the high school bully, to appear,' she told ELLE.com last year. 'Maybe I would make some quick cameo. I would like to see this woman evolve. If I'm going to be involved, I would be down for a cameo—maybe she could make amends with Mia and apologise for being a bully when she was younger. She was insecure, going through a difficult time in her life and [has now] reflected on why that wasn't okay.'
