Today in unexpected news, it turns out Drake once asked out Heidi Klum via text and she totally gave him the cold shoulder. Unfortunately for Drizzy, the former Project Runway host had already met the love of her life by then.

It all went down the last time Klum appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February. Back then, the German model played a game of 'Who'd You Rather?' and she repeatedly chose Drake over other heartthrobs, including Brad Pitt, Harry Styles, and Jake Gyllenhaal. She stuck with the Toronto rapper round after round until Joaquin Phoenix was thrown into the mix.

In a new Ellen guest appearance this week, Klum revealed that Drake actually reached out to her after that 'Who'd You Rather?' game months ago. But by then, she had already met current boyfriend, Tokyo Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz.

'You snooze you lose, you know what I mean? He was basically like, a week too late,' Klum recalled, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.

She explained that the rapper got her number from a mutual friend. 'Someone who I know knows him and he asked to have my number and then he texted me,' she said. 'I was like, "Oh my gosh, this is so weird!" but then I never texted him back because I found the love of my life.'

Ellen wanted to clarify the news: 'Wait, so he texted you and you didn't even respond?'

'No,' Heidi confirmed. 'I mean, what do you do?'

In fact, Klum met her new beau the same day she played 'Who'd You Rather?' on Ellen in February. Later that night, she made an impromptu appearance at a friend's party, and Kaulitz happened to be there too.

'It was to the point so bad when I couldn’t even look at him. You know when you’re attracted to someone so badly you’re like, "Oh my gosh, I can’t even look at him,"' Klum said.

However, she did apologise to Drake for leaving him in the dark. 'Drake, I’m sorry I didn’t text you back,' Heidi said to the camera.

Who knows, maybe she'll get a secret shoutout on his next album.
