Game of Thrones earned some big wins at last night's Emmys, including Best Drama, but two of the show's stars, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, unfortunately weren't around to celebrate the victories.

George R. R. Martin, who wrote the A Song of Ice and Fire book series on which the show is based, was in attendance and confirmed the news of Turner and Williams' absence during a red carpet interview with Variety. Stars Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage (who won for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama), Nathalie Emmanuel, Jacob Anderson, and Gwendoline Christie attended the show, though nominee Lena Headey was also MIA.

But without 'Mophie' on the red carpet, GoT fans missed out on sisterly moments between the two actresses, like Turner helping Williams with her dress, or the duo showing off their matching tattoos.

So why didn't the Stark sisters show up?

Turner didn't publicly announce the reason why she couldn't attend last night's ceremony, though she was recently spotted in Montreal filming re-shoots for X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which hits theaters in February 2019. Fans shared photos with the actress hanging out in Quebec just a few days ago, and Collider reports that Dark Phoenix's reshoots are scheduled to last for two and a half weeks, so it's possible Sophie is still holed up in Canada playing Jean Grey.

Turner noticeably also wasn't in photos with her fiancé Joe Jonas, his brother Nick Jonas, and Nick's fiancée Priyanka Chopra in Texas this week, another clue that she's busy on set. Her future in-laws, Nick and Priyanka, also didn't attend the Emmys ceremony.

Despite missing the event, Turner was sure to congratulate her team after they won big. 'David, Dan, Peter and the rest of the cast and crew of Thrones. I love you my family. So proud of you #Emmys,' she tweeted.

Williams, on the other hand, was across the world in Berlin according to her Instagram account. She shared one shot from inside the Titanic Gendarmenmarkt Berlin hotel late last night.

She later posted a photo from Zeiss Planetarium in Berlin with singer Alice Phoebe Lou, who performed in the venue. 'Thank you to these talented people for taking us on a journey during their live performances at the planetarium - we loved being part of your world 🔮✨,' Williams wrote.

It appears Williams is working on a project with Majestic Casual, a music and photography curator and lifestyle brand, for her new Daisie app.

We're rooting for Turner and Williams as they pursue their separate endeavors outside of GoT, but these projects also serve as upsetting reminders that the show's end is imminent.

Game of Thrones' eighth and final season premieres in 2019.
