With the 2018 Victoria’s Secret fashion show taking place in just over a month’s time, the Angels are busy preparing themselves for the catwalk and photocalls. How? One of the key fitness methods employed by the likes of Nadine Leopold, Blanca Padilla, Devon Windsor, Romee Strijd and Hannah Ferguson is P.Volve, from New York-based personal trainer Stephen Pasterino.

Last week Pasterino came to London with Victoria’s Secret Angel Nadine Leopold, who is now based between here and New York, in celebration of P.Volve launching in the UK by way of virtual workouts. Yes, we can all now #TrainLikeAnAngel at home.

'I’ve been working out with Stephen for two years now,' Leopold tells us, 'and I’m currently preparing for the VS show so I’m doing this twice a day'.

The low impact exercise model is described as a blend of physical therapy with functional science and hip-opening movements to sculpt hard-to-target areas.

'For me it changed my body completely,' Leopold revealed to Bazaar, 'because it doesn’t bulk you – it gives you amazing lines and it’s a very ‘female workout’, so I really like it.'

P.Volve is all centred on small micro-movements and stepping patterns, with no lunches, crunches or squats. Think lifting and tightening over bulking.

It also relies on the expert’s own fitness equipment. In addition to familiar-looking gliders, ankle weights, ankle bands and hand weights there’s the P.ball and P.band.

The P.ball – essentially a strapped on crotch ball, which you might have noticed elegantly popping up on your Instagram feed – is not your average exercise ball. Its elastic strap holds it high between the thighs to activate the core, glutes and thighs at the same time. The P.band is for the upper body, and uses a hand-locking system for secure resistance training.

The brand’s new online streaming platform encompasses over 75 workout videos (that can be filtered by body type, duration and available equipment), so not only Angels but mere mortals can do the method at home. You can find the tutorials, download the app and purchase the equipment at pvolve.com.
