Here's a rare update on one of the hottest, most secret celebrity couples: despite rumors to the contrary, Rihanna is still dating her billionaire boyfriend, Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel. A source told Page Six that first of all, don't read too much into her ex Chris Brown's thirsty comments on her Instagram or Us Weekly's report that Brown and RiRi are secretly in "frequent contact" as friends.
'I don’t believe they even talk at all,' a source close to Rihanna told Page Six of her and Brown. 'She’s still with her boyfriend [Jameel],' and she is 'very much smitten,' by him.
The news comes after Rihanna and Jameel were photographed at the same event for car company Rivian (which Jameel invests in) on Monday, albeit not together. RiRi gave the car company a shoutout on her Instagram, a very girlfriendy move given her boyfriend's business stake in it:
E! reports that after the event, the two had a dinner date on Tuesday at one of Rihanna's favorite Los Angeles restaurants Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. Their bodyguards were there, the clearest sign they were on a date together. A source told Daily Mail that the couple arrived 'surrounded by bodyguards and entered the restaurant's private room through the back door, before spending three hours at dinner.'
Rihanna and Jameel have kept their relationship largely private; she's never posted directly about Jameel on her social media, although she did indirectly talk about him to Vogue in an interview published this May. 'I used to feel guilty about taking personal time, but I also think I never met someone who was worth it before,' she said, alluding to him being her exception.
The two have been dating for over a year, with reports of their relationship first breaking in June 2017. But fans believe in reality, Rihanna and Jameel dated secretly for up to another six months.
