Justin Bieber is seeking treatment for depression, People reported yesterday. And Hailey Baldwin, his new wife, is largely the reason why he's getting constant, professional mental health care now. People and Entertainment Tonight ran reports about her impact on his decision to prioritize his mental health.

Entertainment Tonight details that Baldwin "pushed" Bieber to go to therapy. A source told the outlet that Bieber had been struggling with depression before he and Baldwin got back together last June. But Baldwin became particularly concerned when she saw Bieber's sleep patterns change recently. "He's been sleeping far more than usual, and struggles to get out of bed until very late into the morning or early afternoon," the source said.

She recognized that she couldn't give him the help he needed alone. "He has been seeking help for depression for a long time but Hailey knew he needed more," ET's source said.

And it has deeply affected her: "It's very hard for Hailey to watch him suffer with the depression," the source continued. "She's been nothing but a good support system for him but she knows she isn't a professional, and steady therapy is exactly what he needs. She loves him dearly and hates to see him in pain. She just wants him to be at his healthiest, so she pushed him to get steady help and he hasn't resisted."

People, meanwhile, reports that Baldwin is a big motivator for Bieber getting treatment. “He wants to be the best possible husband for Hailey,” a source close to Bieber told the outlet. “It’s one thing to have your issues when you’re single, but when you’re married, there’s two people’s happiness at stake. He’s working on himself so that he can be a good partner to her.”

Bieber has not missed a therapy session, even though they haven't been easy for him, People reports. “His emotions are raw, but he knows that this counseling—however painful—is what he needs as he moves forward with life,” the outlet's source said. “He’s going to be a dad someday, and he knows that could happen sooner rather than later.” By then, Bieber wants to make sure “he’s got his act together.” (Baldwin told Vogue that the two aren't planning on having any babies for at least a couple of years.)

In their Vogue interview, Bieber talked about how his 22-year-old wife helps stabilize him.

“I’m the emotionally unstable one,” Bieber said. “I struggle with finding peace. I just feel like I care so much and I want things to be so good and I want people to like me. Hailey’s very logical and structured, which I need. I’ve always wanted security—with my dad being gone sometimes when I was a kid, with being on the road. With the lifestyle I live, everything is so uncertain. I need one thing that’s certain. And that is my baby boo [Hailey Baldwin]."
