It's Rihanna's birthday week, an occasion that she marked in an exceptional way last night. RiRi took her billionaire boyfriend, Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel, on a public date. The two went to a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game. He sat alongside her in a black baseball cap while she passionately cheered from the stands.
RiRi was very invested in the game. Her team, the Lakers, barely prevailed, winning 111 to 106 against the Houston Rockets. She shared an Instagram Story of herself going crazy over it:
Other birthday festivities for RiRi, who turned 31 on Wednesday, included attending a party thrown for her at Wally's restaurant in Beverly Hills. She got there at 10 P.M. Tuesday as a 30-year-old, and left as a 31-year-old at 2 A.M. Wednesday.
She also shared a shot of herself with a unicorn piñata and in a Vetements hoodie yesterday. It is a real mood:
But what made last night's date with Jameel exceptional—besides it confirming that yes, of course they are still together—is that Jameel and RiRi have barely been photographed in the same frame. The couple was last shot separately getting dinner at a Malibu restaurant together in December 2018. And before that, one of the last time Jameel was photographed—not next to Rihanna of course—was in January 2018 when they both attended a Grammys after party together. Rihanna didn't go to the Grammys this year.
Rihanna and Jameel were first reported to be dating in June 2017. But even then, reports suggested the two had privately been dating for the six months before. That would mean the two started dating in early 2017 and have officially been together for two years now.
