Kensington Palace did something it hasn't done in months today: Issue a statement about a false story circulating about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Vanity Fair reported a day ago that Meghan and Harry are planning to raise their first baby gender fluid. The Palace called this "totally false."

A source told Vanity Fair's Katie Nicholl that “Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby. Her exact word was fluid. She said they plan to raise their child with a fluid approach to gender and they won’t be imposing any stereotypes.” Nicholl then added that there could be "multiple interpretations" to what Meghan meant by "fluid."

But the Palace cleared that question up once and for all: A palace spokesperson told Hello! today that "this story is totally false."

The last time the Palace commented on a false story about Meghan was in the beginning of December. Then, Buckingham Palace commented on a new story from The Sun alleging that Kate "slapped down" Meghan and told her "not to berate" members of Kate's team at Kensington Palace. "This never happened," the Palace told The Mirror.

That was during the height of Kate Middleton-Meghan Markle feud stories. As a royal source would tell ELLE.com later, there was no real war of the wives happening. “The stories of the two duchesses having a major ongoing feud are just overblown," the source said in January. "They have enormous respect for each other and are both devoted to representing Her Majesty in the humanitarian and charitable work they do."

Meghan is set to welcome her first child at the end of April or early May. And despite reports going around that the baby is rumored to be a boy, they are just guesses. The public will not find out the baby's gender until he or she is born. This is royal precedent, and ELLE.com understands from sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that although Harry and Meghan have found out the sex of their baby, they have elected to keep it a surprise from the public.
