Amal Clooney got to spend time with one royal tonight—and it wasn't her friend Meghan Markle. Amal and George Clooney were guests at The Prince's Trust Dinner, held in Buckingham Palace. For the occasion, Amal dressed in a beautiful white strapless gown. A one-sleeved cape gave the dress an extra regal spin:
The dinner tonight was for donors, supporters, and ambassadors of Prince’s Trust International. George and Amal got plenty of face time with the Prince of Wales. There were handshakes and smiles:
Amal was last seen out at Meghan's New York City baby shower, where she wore a red jumpsuit with gold heels.
Amal also attended Meghan's wedding and was said to have become close with Meghan when Meghan first moved to London last fall. “Meghan and Amal have known each other for a while [and share] many interests,” a source told People last May. “Amal has been helping Meghan settle into London life. It was a very natural friendship from day one."
Meghan and Prince Charles, of course, are also close. Charles keeps a framed photo of himself walking Meghan down the aisle during her royal wedding in Clarence House. Last July, it was reported that Charles even has a special nickname for Meghan: Tungsten, a type of metal. "Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy," a source told the Mail On Sunday's Charlotte Griffiths. "It's become a term of endearment."
