Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn remain privately and happily together, and Us Weekly is reporting that an engagement is on the horizon.
A source told the outlet that "Joe wants to marry her and she wants to marry him. He’s just waiting to find the perfect time to propose. He wants to make it unforgettable and extremely special."
Swift also has distinct engagement ring preferences, the source added. "She’d like something elegant and simple." Take note, Joe Alwyn.
Swift's friends are all so convinced this proposal is going down, some are taking bets on when it's going to happen, Us Weekly added. “Taylor’s friends are all talking about a proposal and how she really wants to marry Joe,” an insider told the outlet. “He’s her dream guy.”
Swift and Alwyn have been together for a little over two years at this point. They became a little more public with their relationship during award season. Swift was seen at multiple after parties to support Alwyn, whose film The Favourite was nominated at all the major awards shows. She did not walk the red carpet with him at any point, but the two were most recently seen together at the Vanity Fair after party.
In December, Us Weekly suggested that Alwyn would be popping the question shortly. “Joe is very keen on proposing soon,” a source told the outlet at the time. “But he wants to make it unforgettable and extremely special.” That source also made it clear that Swift will inevitably say yes. “He’s her dream guy. Taylor’s going to be over the moon.”
And a whole year ago in March 2018, Us Weekly first reported that Swift would be happy to marry Alwyn. “Taylor really believes Joe is the one for her,” a source told Us Weekly then. “She wants to get engaged to him. She just doesn’t feel as though she has to impress anyone at this point.”
