Kit Harington went viral last year for pranking his wife Rose Leslie so badly on April Fools' Day that she was brought to tears. What did he do? Oh, just put a creepy severed head in their refrigerator. Understandably, upon seeing it, she collapsed on the floor because it scared her so badly. 'She pretty much told me that if I did it ever again, that would be it, and I think that’s marriage included,' Harington recounted when originally telling the tale.
You'd think that would give him pause, but no. Harington tried to prank Leslie again this year...and it ended up massively backfiring. The Game of Thrones actor told Seth Meyers that this year's prank was also much weaker than last year's. 'I started strong,' he said of the severed head prank. 'The amount of props at my disposal has diminished. This year I did pull an April Fools' on her while we were out here [in New York City]. I am aware this is the most first world April Fools' before I tell this story,' he said.
What could that mean? At first, Harington struggled coming up with the right prank. 'I didn’t know what to do,' he said. So he decided on another food-related one: 'She has a favourite almond milk,' he explained. 'She won’t drink any other almond milk. So I just wrote an article about how this company that makes her favourite almond milk was going under because of Brexit. Now, this backfired, because she immediately rang my PA [personal assistant] and got her to bulk order this almond milk with my credit card so I ended up spending 150 quid on almond milk.'
