After a few days of online debate, Kim Kardashian is has finally explained just what, exactly, is going on with her mysterious sinks. The frenzy first started over a video for Vogue's 73 Questions, where viewers got a look at the Kardashian West home and noticed an interesting element in the decor:
Twitter (and myself) had a lot of questions and theories about how these sinks are...even sinks. But the mystery has been solved, as Kim took matters into her own hands and showed exactly how these magic appliances work.
In an Instagram story, Kim gives a tour of her huge family bathroom with an up-close look at the sinks. It turns out there's a slight gradient in the countertop that leads to a slit drain.
"Since everyone is a little confused about our sinks, I thought I would show you a little tour of our bathroom," Kim says. "That's our patio out there, our whole ceiling is a light box. Bathtub fits all of our kids, and our shower. So, our sinks. Kanye drew this. 8 versions of this prototype sink was made and it does actually slightly slope down. There's a slit for the water. You put it on as high pressure as you want and no backsplash will come up."
