• Idris Elba has married Sabrina Dhowre in a three-day wedding in Morocco.
  • Elba and Dhowre attended the royal wedding on May 19, 2018.
  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were unable to attend Elba's nuptials due to the forthcoming royal baby, but they apparently sent the newlyweds a romantic (and expensive) gift.

Idris Elba got married to model and actress Sabrina Dhowre in Marrakesh this week, exchanging vows at the Ksar Char-Bagh hotel on April 26, 2019.

Having attended Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal wedding back in May 2018, fans might have been expecting the royals to return the favor by attending Elba and Dhowre's nuptials. However, as the royal baby is due to arrive in late April or early May 2019, Meghan and Harry would have been unable to make the trip, even if invited.

Despite not making it to the wedding, Meghan and Harry allegedly gave Elba and Dhowre an incredible gift. According to the Mail on Sunday, the royals selected a piece of art by duo the Connor Brothers to gift to the newlyweds. The publication notes that the artwork retails for around $9,000, with the chosen piece featuring the quote, "Why fit in when you were born to stand out?"

According to Yahoo! Style, the artists have a curious backstory, as "When they first arrived on the art scene, the duo claimed to be Missouri-born twins who had been raised in an extremist Christian cult." However, it was eventually revealed that the enigmatic twins were actually British artists James Golding and Mike Snelle under a unique pseudonym.

Even though Harry and Meghan couldn't make it to Elba's Moroccan nuptials, their wedding gift for the couple sounds pretty amazing.
