In Spain over the weekend, Miley Cyrus was grabbed and kissed by a man while walking through a crowd in Barcelona.

In a fan-shot video, Miley and her husband Liam Hemsworth can be seen walking hand-in-hand through a large group. The couple were leaving their hotel for their car when a man's arm appears and pulls Cyrus' hair. It looks like he then forcefully reaches out to hook the singer by the neck before planting a kiss on the side of her head.

A witness posted video of the incident on Twitter.:

Cyrus quickly got loose and is seen alerting Hemsworth, who managed to get her out of harm’s way. Hemsworth puts his arm around her and guides her through the crowd. Security also intervened to make sure the star was free of the man who assaulted her.

The 26-year-old has since reacted to the incident. On Tuesday night, she Tweeted to say she would not be ‘grabbed without her consent’ after footage of the incident circulated.

Trolls on the internet initially blamed Cyrus for the attack, saying the way she was dressed meant she was asking for it.

The singer, however, wrote: ‘She can be wearing what she wants. She can be a virgin. She can be sleeping with 5 different people.

'She can be with her husband. She can be with her girlfriend. She can be naked. ‘She CAN’T be grabbed without her consent. #DontFuckWithMyFreedom’

The 'Wrecking Ball' singer had been in Barcelona for Primavera Sound Festival, taking the top spot after Cardi B pulled out. She is currently promoting her new album, 'She is Coming.'

According to the Evening Standard, a source told E! News that Cyrus 'always respects her fans' but was 'unsettled' by the incident, though was 'doing fine' now.
