Don't deny it: Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde dominated the early 2000s. Here, everything we know about Legally Blonde 3 before it hits theaters.

Witherspoon first confirmed a third movie in June 2018.

Witherspoon took to Instagram to make the announcement that, yes, Legally Blonde 3 is officially happening. To make the announcement, the actress posted a short video of herself in Elle's sequined hot pink bikini, leisurely sunbathing on a pool float. "It’s true... #LegallyBlonde3," she captioned the post.

Witherspoon donned the bikini back in 2016 to celebrate Legally Blonde's 15th anniversary, so it's fitting that she brought it back out to confirm the third movie two years later.

There's a script!

At the season 2 New York premiere for Big Little Lies, Witherspoon was asked about her iconic Legally Blonde character, and if she could reveal any details about a possible third movie. "[We have] a script, but we haven't shot anything," the actress said while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. "[Elle's] a very beloved character. You just want her to go on a hero's journey like she does in the first movie, and I'm having a great time working on it."

The original writers and producers are back, too.

Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah, the screenwriters responsible for bringing Amanda Brown's corresponding book to the big screen back in 2001, are tasked with writing the script, according to Deadline. Original producers Marc Platt and Adam Siegel, President of Platt Productions, will work on the film. Witherspoon is also set to produce the film, with her production company, Hello Sunshine. There is currently no word on who will be directing the film.

There's an official release date.

The third Legally Blonde film is slated to to arrive in theaters on February 14, 2020— only eight months away!
