President Donald Trump gave an interview to Piers Morgan while in London, where he once again tried to explain that he didn't call Meghan Markle "nasty" despite saying during his The Sun interview that he didn't know Meghan "was nasty" because she publicly criticized him in 2016.

According to Trump, he meant what she said was nasty, not that she was a nasty person. "You know, the question was asked to me, and I didn’t know that she said anything bad about me," he started.

"It sounds like she did. And that’s okay. I mean, join the crowd. You’ve heard about that too yourself. But it seems like she had. And they said some of the things that she said, and it’s actually on tape.

"And I said wow, I didn’t know she was nasty. I wasn’t referring to she’s nasty. I said she was nasty about me. And essentially, I didn’t know she was nasty about me. So I said, 'But you know what? She’s doing a good job.' I hope she enjoys her life. I think she’s very nice. Honestly, I don’t know her, so I have to be honest, I don’t know her..." he backtracked.

He acknowledged later that she has the right to have her own opinions about him, but he shouldn't, as U.S. president, say mean things about her publicly. "That’s okay for her to be nasty," he said. "It’s not good for me to be nasty to her."

Trump also shut down the idea that his meeting with Prince Harry was awkward at all because of the Meghan Markle nasty comment drama. "I did [get a chance to speak to Prince Harry]," he said. "I congratulated him. I think he’s a terrific guy. The royal family is really nice." He reiterated again that there was no truth to rumors that Harry avoided the Trump family. "He [Harry] couldn’t have been nicer."
