While Beyoncé has all eyes fixed on her at the moment due to her role as Nala in The Lion King, it's her daughter Blue Ivy Carter who steals the show in the singer's latest video.

Bey released the video for 'Spirit' - an original song she has performed for the Disney remake's soundtrack - which shows the singer in what looks like the African plains, reminiscent of the film.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z's eldest child then approaches her mother in a lilac dress - just like the one Beyoncé is wearing - and ballet shoes and takes her hand.

The video, which is interspersed with scenes from the live-action remake, also pays homage to the continent through its dancers, Beyoncé's outfit, jewellery and hair and make-up plus the beautiful scenery where the video was shot.

On the same day, Bey released the video for 'Spirit', she also announced a new album in addition to The Lion King's soundtrack called The Gift. Executively produced by Beyoncé, it features 14 tracks from and inspired by the film with a bevvy of impressive collaborations.

Blue Ivy makes another contribution to The Lion King, at just seven-years-old, by featuring on the track 'Brown Skin Girl' along with her mother, Saint Jhn and Wiz Kid.

Other recognisable voices which can be heard on the album include Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z and Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover, who plays Simba in the film.

The Gift also features collaborations with African artists like Nigerian singers Mr Eazi, Burna Boy and Yemi Alada, Ghanian musician Shatta Wale and Busiswa and Moonchild Sanelly from South Africa.

According to The Guardian, the singer sad it was important to her 'that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers', adding that 'authenticity and heart were important to me'.

Beyoncé graced London with her presence over the weekend when she attended the European premiere of the film with husband Jay-Z. There she met Meghan Markle and Prince Harry where they greeted each other with a hug and talked about their children - we're guessing the super-talented Blue Ivy was mentioned!
