• Prince Harry revealed that he knows The Lion King “by heart” while attending the London premiere for the 2019 remake with Meghan Markle on Sunday.
  • Meghan told well-wishers that her husband knew all of the characters, to which Harry responded, “Actually I know everything by heart, which is even sadder.”
  • His nephew, Prince George, was also said to be a fan of the film.

Are you a bigger Lion King fan than Prince Harry is? While attending the premiere for the film’s 2019 remake in London on Sunday, the Duke of Sussex joked that he knows the whole film by heart, which he isn’t exactly proud of.

Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, were speaking to 12-year-olds Evie Chambers and Valentina Walker, whose parents work at Disney, when he revealed his love for the iconic animated film. While discussing their favourite characters, Harry disclosed that his were Timon and Pumbaa.

“Can you tell he’s a big fan? He knows all the characters,” Meghan said.

“Actually I know everything by heart, which is even sadder,” Harry quipped. Unfortunately, he did not break out into song, like he did onstage at Hamilton.

Harry isn’t the only Lion King enthusiast in the family. Back in 2017, Prince William revealed that his oldest son, Prince George, “quite likes” the film. “We’ve watched that a few times,” he said at the time.

At Sunday’s premiere, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex received a book and Simba toy from Evie and Valentina as gifts for their two-month-old son, Archie. The proud parents also discussed their son with fellow power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z on the red carpet. Harry even gushed over how their little one is able to hold his neck up, which is “so exciting.”

Can Disney give us an extended cut of the Lion King remake with a Prince Harry cameo?
