Congrats to Anne Hathaway, who is expecting her second child with husband Adam Shulman!

The Les Miserables actress shared a photo of herself, clearly displaying her baby bump under a simple white vest, on Instagram on Wednesday.

'It's not for a movie,' Hathaway clarified, confirming that this will be indeed be her second baby.

However, contrastingly to the majority of celebrity pregnancy announcements, Hathaway also used her picture to acknowledge that having children is not easy for everyone. She goes on to say she recognises that yet another expectant mother post might come as a blow to women experiencing fertility issues.

In the caption, Hathaway explains that her journey of expanding her family hasn't been straightforward either, something she hasn't publicly divulged before.

'For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies,' she wrote in the caption. 'Sending you extra love.'

On the same day Hathaway candidly spoke about her fertility struggles, singer Natalie Imbruglia also shared that she was expecting her first child via IVF and a sperm donor.

The fact that more and more celebrities with large platforms are opening up about the different ways they have managed to conceive, and attested to the fact that it can be a long, frustrating and emotional journey, can only be a good thing for women enduring similar things.

Hathaway and Shulman - an actor and producer, himself - welcomed their first child, a son called Jonathan, in 2016.

For her first pregnancy announcement post, the actress shared a beautiful picture of herself on the beach on holiday. Admitting that posting a bikini photo was 'a little out of character' for the Oscar winner, she explained she'd noticed the presence of photographers trying to pap her so realising the pictures of her baby bump would be released to the world anyway took matters into her own hands.

'I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent),' she wrote in the caption.

We are very much here for Hathaway-style pregnancy announcements.
