We have long known Selena Gomez to be a low-key Vanderpump Rules fan. This week, she revealed herself to be quietly obsessed with another reality show: Shark Tank, which is basically the American version of Dragon's Den.
The singer's friends surprised her with a Shark Tank-themed birthday present, and Gomez posted her happy freakout on Instagram. 'Not many of you know but I am obsessed with shark tank. Two of my best friends nailed my gift 😁,' Gomez wrote.
Friends put together a video in which Shark Tank judge/investor Mark Cuban personally wished Gomez a happy birthday. At the end, the friends revealed that Gomez would be going to watch a taping of the show in September. She stood up and just about lost it. 'NO! We are?! OH MY GOSH, I'm so excited,' she exclaimed:
Gomez celebrated her 27th birthday last week in Italy. The singer spent the week in Rome and then the Amalfi Coast. On her birthday itself, the group went to lunch where they enjoyed carbs and tiramisu. They were in Italy, after all.
A source told E! that 'the table shared several dishes such as raw fish, tagliatelle with lobster, pasta with vodka sauce and various salads. They were chatting and laughing the entire time. No candles, cards or cake, but they did have dessert of ice cream and tiramisu.'
Entertainment Tonight reported on Friday, meanwhile, that Gomez is in a 'really good place' following that trip.'
'She just celebrated her birthday in Italy and is really enjoying this time off before things ramp up again,' the source explained. 'Selena has been working on new music and plans to release some this year. The new music is going to be a different side of Selena and very personal. Selena has gone through a lot over the years and is ready to share it with the world.'
