An airport brought The OC's Seth Cohen and Summer Roberts back together...or at least the real-life actors who played them. Rachel Bilson shared a selfie of her and Adam Brody during their chance encounter while traveling. She stuck her tongue out; he smirked, and it was like it was high school all over again. "Ran into my ol buddy from jfk to lax #californiaherewecome🤓," she captioned her Instagram. The post has gotten over 200,000 likes so far.
Bilson, by the way, has addressed whether she'd do a revival of the show in the past. In 2017, she said she was not closed to the possibility. "I'm always open to things," Bilson told E!. "I don't know what it would look like with our characters being old now. We were riding skateboards on the pier; I don't know what they do now as 30-year-olds. But it would be nice to see everybody again."
She mused then that she imagined that Summer at this point would still be with Seth. "I'm sure she has kids with Seth," she said when asked what Summer would be doing now. "I don't know! She's on the beach."
Brody went on to marry another teen drama queen in real life: Leighton Meester, who played Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl. He and Meester spoke to Entertainment Tonight in 2017 about whether they ever laugh at the notion that Seth Cohen and Blair Waldorf ended up together. “Occasionally,” Brody said. Then he joked, “Once a year, randomly, on our Seth and Blair day. It’s good for a laugh.”
Meester answered the question more seriously. “It doesn't excite us, I think, because we're just human beings... but it's exciting to us that it's exciting to you. It’s cool.” They said they didn't watch each other's shows.
