Jessica Mulroney has had enough.

After 'three years of undeserved hate and abuse', the stylist has passionately defended her best friend Meghan Markle after the latest criticism aimed at the Duchess and the Duke of Sussex.

Following, a number of summer holidays the royal couple took over the past few weeks, including a birthday trip to Ibiza and a stay at Elton John's Nice villa, Markle and Prince Harry have faced criticism from certain newspapers accusing them of hypocrisy for using a private jet to travel while rallying against the climate crisis.

On Monday, John himself took to Instagram to hit back at these reports. The singer clarified that he and husband David Furnish arranged the jet, in order to ensure maximum privacy and security for the couple, and then made a donation to offset the plane's carbon emission in line with Prince Harry's environmental work.

Now, Mulroney – the Canadian stylist who is Markle's best friend – has lamented the flood of criticism aimed at the former Suits actress.

'It's enough,' she wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of a quote which said: 'When someone faces unfair criticism, you call it out... Shame on you, you racist bullies.'

She also shared a tweet by Jameela Jamil on her Instagram Stories which amounted the barrage of criticism directed at Markle to bullying.

Mulroney and Markle became friends when the Duchess lived and worked in Toronto, Canada. She played a key role at the 2018 royal wedding, reportedly helping Markle choose her wedding day outfits as well as keeping the bridesmaids and page boys in check, which included her three children alongside Prince George and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

Aside from John and Mulroney, other high-profile individuals have leapt to the defence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, highlighting their charity work and contribution to conversations on social justices.

'Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you're trying to do is make the world better,' Ellen DeGeneres – who recently met up with the couple in England to talk about wildlife conservation – wrote on Twitter.
