Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have loaned their Windsor residence, Frogmore Cottage, to the Duke of Sussex's cousin Princess Eugenie.

It was confirmed over the weekend that Eugenie, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, will reside in the property with her husband Jack Brooksbank. The married couple of two years are currently expecting their first child together.

According to ITV, representatives for the Sussexes - who are currently stateside at their new home in Santa Barbara - confirmed that Frogmore Cottage will remain the couple's UK home but in the meantime they are 'delighted' to open it up to Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank.

When Meghan and Harry announced they would be stepping back as senior working members of the royal family earlier this year, they said Frogmore Cottage would remain their home when in the UK. The couple also confirmed they would repay the taxpayer money from the Sovereign Grant, used to renovate the cottage into a family home from when they were financially tied to the monarchy, which they have since paid back.

Due to travel restrictions owing to the Coronavirus pandemic, the couple have spent much more time in California than in the UK in 2020. When the couple are able to travel to the UK, they will share the space of Frogmore Cottage with Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank, reports ITV.

No doubt this will be great fun for their one-year-old son Archie and his future second cousin, who is reportedly due to arrive early next year.

The couple married at the same venue as the Sussexes, St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, five months after Meghan and Harry tied the knot, welcoming guests like Cara Delevingne, Ellie Goulding and Naomi Campbell.
