Reactions to Netflix's Harry & Meghan docu-series - charting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's secession from the Royal family and move to California - have been mixed, but there's one thing we can be sure of, Beyconcé is a fan.

In the final episode of the six-part series, Markle reveals that she received a special text message from the Queen of Pop, supporting her in speaking out and the couple getting the chance to tell their side of the story.

According to the 41-year-old mother-of-two, the day after the couple's bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé sent her a message, bolstering the couple's decision to give details about what they felt was unjust treatment during their time as Senior Royals.

In the episode, Markle reads the text message aloud to her husband, saying, '[Beyoncé] said she wants me to feel safe and protected. She admires and respects my bravery and vulnerability and thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.'

Harry replies, 'That's well said,' of the exchange.

Beyoncé's relationship with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spans back at least to 2019, when she and her husband Jay-Z met the royal pair at the London premiere of The Lion King, in Leicester Square. Since then, we've seen various bits of evidence of their blossoming friendship, such as Beyoncé marking Black History Month in 2019 with a portrait of Markle painted by artist Tim O'Brien.

Of the pair's decision to do the tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview, Markle and Prince Harry also address this in the episode, explaining: 'That interview, it was less about setting the record straight than at least filling in the blanks that other people were filling in for us.'

Harry & Meghan is available to stream now on Netflix.
