Are you ready? ELLE UK and Nike are back with the second series of the Why I… Move podcast, in which our incredible new host Liv Little asks what motivates some amazing well-known women to find time to fit exercise into their lives.

In each episode, Liv will be joined by the Nike Well Collective – a troop of trainers and coaches who’ll be sharing their expert advice and guidance, and telling you why they move.

We all know we should do it, but too many of us still experience barriers to getting the benefits of exercise. By exploring how and why our special guests fit movement into their lives, we aim to inspire others to do the same. Sometimes staying motivated to move every day is about the small steps. From a mindful walk to a super-quick HIIT session, we’ll be looking at the creative ways women incorporate movement into their lives.

It’s an ethos Nike wholeheartedly champions, so over the course of six episodes, ELLE UK and Nike will explore different forms of movement and how it can benefit, empower and energise every aspect of your life.

We’ll be covering everything from breathwork to the importance of pausing and the joy that mindfulness can bring.

WHAT IS THE WHY I… MOVE PODCAST?

Launched in spring 2023, the podcast saw ELLE UK and Nike come together to start a conversation about how and why we exercise. Inspirational guests from the worlds of TV, literature, music and style paired up with Nike’s amazing roster of trainers and coaches to explore the idea of movement. Each episode, hosted by ELLE UK editors, featured emotional, funny and touching stories from these famous names as they shared their personal journeys with fitness, sport and movement.

WHAT DOES SERIES TWO HAVE IN STORE?

We’ve hit refresh and are back with a brilliant new host, journalist and author Liv Little, who will be welcoming the most stylish, cultured and sporty names around. Little, who admits there are days she struggles to get off the sofa, will explore her guests’ attitudes to movement and how they maintain the focus to stay on track.

Just like in the first series, we will be guided by the Nike Well Collective expert trainers and coaches. Each episode, they’ll join to offer authentic, helpful advice, while sharing smart tips on how to achieve a balanced lifestyle, focusing on holistic wellbeing rather than fixating on goals.

WHO CAN YOU EXPECT TO HEAR FROM?

First up, we have trailblazing British broadcaster, Julie Adenuga. The former Apple Music host has interviewed everyone from Jorja Smith and Stormzy to Daniel Kaluuya. A hugely influential voice on music and culture, Adenuga will talk about how she fell in love with strength training, and why we shouldn’t be afraid of the reformer Pilates machine. Also joining episode one is Rebekah Jade, a doctor and Nike Well Collective yoga trainer, who will share her wisdom around the art of slowing down.
