Remember the days when a movie star could just sit down and chat with a late-night show host to promote his latest blockbuster? Tom Cruise likely does. But nowadays, you simply haven't made it as a star unless you've worn crazier outfits—and crazier wigs—and palled around with James Corden in front of a blue screen.

On The Late Late Show, Corden has already recreated the film careers of movie stars like Matt Damon, Tom Hanks, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Cruise gamely took up the challenge on Monday night's show to promote his sequel to Jack Reacher. The result is nine minutes of nostalgia-bait, including the best scenes from Risky Business, Mission Impossible, and Top Gun. And costar Cuba Gooding Jr. even stopped by to fully recreate the "show me the money" exchange from Jerry Maguire.

The sketch is impressive, not just for the crowd-pleasing fun, but for the quick transitions between costumes and set pieces. Love him or hate him, it's also a reminder of just how solid of a movie star Cruise is, and just how many gigantic hits he's made through his career. You can quote at least six or seven of these, guaranteed. (And when he forgets to take off his Interview with the Vampire wig, it's also a look at how A Few Good Men would look like with mullets, which is valuable knowledge.)
