Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum have announced they are separating after nine years of marriage and hearts are breaking everywhere.

Ever since the couple met after starring in the 2006 film Step Up, the pair have been heralded as one of the more long-lasting, stable and beloved couples in Hollywood.

The Dewan-Tatum's often posed together on the red carpet, posted loving messages dedicated to each other on social media, and spoke with nothing but love about each other in interviews.

Here's a roundup of the sweetest, most insightful and romantic things the couple said about each other throughout their relationship:

December, 2006:

'Channing is a very sweet, loving, funny, giving, caring, compassionate... he's a hard worker, he's very goal-orientated.' (Jenna at a Step Up press conference)

'Jenna, she's obviously beautiful, but she really is as beautiful inside as she is out. She's really real too. She loves to teach people how to not come from a place of insecurity and come from a place of love... she's a beautiful soul.' (Channing at a Step Up press conference)

August, 2009 (a month after the couple married):

'We've been together and nothing's really changed. It's pretty much the same as I've felt every day since I met her - and that's just about perfect.' (Channing via People)

April, 2013:

'Most actors and actresses are consumed by careers and getting ahead. Channing and I are ambitious, but our relationship comes first. We take everything day by day, saying, OK, how can we make this work together?' (Jenna via Glamour)

July, 2013:

'I had just gotten out of a pretty long relationship, so I was in no way ready for another. I was trying to run from what I knew Jenna was—not someone I was just going to date. But one of my buddies was like, "What are you doing, man? She's dope." That night I showed up at her hotel room with a sombrero on, and that was it.' (Channing via Elle)

November, 2014:

'She keeps us all sane, Jenna puts everything in perspective for me, always. I'll find myself spinning out or angry or whatever, or even happy, and she always somehow ends up righting the ship.' (Channing via People)

July, 2015 (Speaking about the birth of their daughter Everly):

'We like to think of ourselves as big, strong men, and we could handle whatever situation. And reality is [that women] are so much stronger than we could ever be. There's a reason why we weren't given that job, evolutionary or whatever. My wife, she's a warrior. She did it as natural as you can.' (Channing via Vanity Fair)

May, 2016:

'Watching her in those first days transform into a mother was life changing. She was every bit the beautiful, sexy, funny, flawed creature I fell in love with. But the prism turned and showed a whole new light that I had no idea existed, the light of a mother's love. Thank you for that baby.' (Channing via Instagram)

May, 2017:

'I knew our connection was really powerful, but I wasn’t sure what our relationship was going to be. Then one day, Jenna just blurted out that she knew exactly what she wanted in life and she didn’t have to look for it anymore because it was me. She had no idea what I’d say or how I’d react, but that was her truth. I remember feeling this incredible rush — it was the sexiest thing she’d ever done for me. I felt strength, because in that moment, she had accepted every part of me, the good and the bad. And I knew she wasn’t auditioning me or hoping I’d meet some set of expectations. That radical authenticity of hers was what made me fall head over heels in love.' (Channing via Cosmopolitan)

April, 2017:

'There's a beauty in being two busy people because we get a lot of time to miss each other. To continue to miss someone after so many years is kind of a blessing in disguise.' (Jenna via Redbook)

December, 2017:

'Your strength and grace ever evolving. By doing so you make everything around you grow, I am so very grateful for your lessons.' (Channing to Jenna via Instagram)

February, 2018:

'I’m a very sensual person, same with Chan. It is just how we’re made up, and it’s a big part of how we connect. There’s a real tangible physical connection.' (Jenna via Health.com)
