Straight from your Gossip Girl nightmares, Dan Humphrey is back again in the first trailer of You, the Lifetime series based off of Caroline Kepne's novel of the same name. Penn Badgley plays a bookstore manager, Joe, who may or may not have become so obsessed with a writer that he started stalking her by using her social media. Elizabeth Lail plays his blonde, Serena van der Woodsen-like love interest while Shay Mitchell lurks in the shadow as the girl's best friend who's onto Badgley's character.

As Lifetime itself describes the plot, "'What would you do for love?' When a brilliant bookstore manager crosses paths with an aspiring writer, his answer becomes clear: anything. Using the internet and social media as his tools to gather the most intimate of details and get close to her, a charming and awkward crush quickly becomes obsession as he quietly and strategically removes every obstacle–and person–in his way."

The trailer starts with every New Yorker's worst nightmare: Lail getting pushed off the subway platform and nearly being run over by a train until Badgley miraculously saves her, so prepare yourself. It just gets creepier from there:
