The royal wedding is just two days away, so let's move away from all the drama and focus on happier aspects - such as what Prince Harry will be wearing on the big day.

After all, he has been getting shredded for his upcoming nuptials...

It had been suggested that the 33-year-old prince would wear his Household Cavalry uniform for his wedding to Meghan Markle, but that he'd probably have to shave off his beard because facial hair and uniform are frowned upon by the military circle.

Meanwhile, Royal correspondent Penny Junor predicted he would opt for morning dress because it's not a state wedding, telling ELLE UK: 'My hunch is Harry will wear morning dress because it is going to be relatively low-key, compared with his brother's wedding, and he is no longer a serving officer.'

However, it's now believed that he will wear the ceremonial uniform of the Royal Marines, according to the regiment (via The Telegraph).

It's claimed that Harry will wear the uniform as a mark of respect to the regiment he took over as Captain General from his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Corporal Adam Caunter, who will form part of a Half Company from 30 Commando IX Group Royal Marines performing the royal salute as the couple pass by in their carriage, told the publication: 'I think he'll be in his Blues, which is what we’ll be wearing, and that gives us a special connection.

'It's something we're very proud of.'

Royal Navy Warrant Officer 1 Eddie Wearing - who has drilled the troops and will be issuing their orders on the day of the wedding - added: 'There is a personal link between Prince Harry and the men.

'It adds something to the occasion because he has experienced what they have. It makes their relationship closer.

'They respect what he is because as an officer who has seen active service he has done what they have. It’s not just the active service he has seen, but also the work he's done of wounded vets, such as the Invictus Games. They respect that.'

Meanwhile, Meghan has released a statement to confirm that her father Thomas Markle will not be attending the royal wedding due to ill health.
