Days after Meghan Markle’s father opened up to the press about his relationship with his daughter, the Palace is reportedly holding emergency meetings to talk about how to ease the media storm.

The Mirror reports that, following weeks of interviews between Thomas Markle Sr. and several international publications, royal aides have reportedly held at least three top-level ‘crisis meetings’ on how to stop the former Hollywood lighting director communicating with journalists.

A source said: ‘Meghan is deeply hurt by what is happening and everything is being done behind the scenes to make sure her welfare is at the top of the agenda.

‘It’s an increasingly desperate situation and now it’s come down to three options being on the table.’

Ways to ease the pair’s rumoured fraught relationship include Meghan appearing to her father directing to ask him to stop sharing private details, using an intermediary to ask him to stop making statements, and for the Duchess of Cambridge to cut contact indefinitely in the hope he father will cease communication with the media.

However, sources claim the ‘situation is so precarious no one knows when that would be’ amid fears if she did make contact with her father, he may leak details of their conversation.

The news comes days after the 74-year-old claimed the Duchess of Sussex has removed him from her life and fears he may never get to see any potential future grandchildren, as a result.

He also claims his daughter hasn’t spoken to him in 10 weeks and that Prince Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana, would’ve ‘loathed’ the way the Royal Family has treated him.

Royal journalist Phil Dampier told the Mirror: ‘This is getting out of control. If this carries on I wouldn’t be surprised if the Queen herself gets involved and bangs a few heads together.’

News of a tense relationship between Meghan and her father first came to light following reports he had staged paparazzi photos in the lead up to her wedding day. The septuagenarian later pulled out of the wedding, claiming he had suffered a heart attack and wouldn’t be well enough to travel to the UK for the nuptials.
