The Woody Allen film that Selena Gomez, Timothée Chalamet, and Elle Fanning shot last summer, A Rainy Day in New York, has been shelved by Amazon Studios, Page Six is reporting—making it seem more likely that the project will never be released. ELLE.com reached out to Amazon, who confirmed via spokesperson that no release date has been set. Their statement clarifies that a separate source report saying the film would be released before the end of this year is wrong.

Amazon's decision to hold the film (reported to have cost them £19 million by Page Six) is not terribly surprising as the project was shot just as the #MeToo movement began. Allen's adopted daughter Dylan Farrow first accused Allen of sexually abusing her as a child in 1993, and she wrote an op-ed for the Los Angeles Times last December, asking why the movement—which had halted or ended the careers of other people accused of harassment or abuse—had thus far spared Allen. Allen denied the allegations.

In January, Chalamet announced he was donating his salary from the film to Time's Up, the L.G.B.T. Center in New York and RAINN. 'I don't want to profit from my work on the film,' he wrote, noting he was unable to talk about Allen because of contractual obligations. 'I want to be worthy of standing shoulder to shoulder with the brave artists who are fighting for all people to be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.'

Gomez, meanwhile, was reported to have donated more than her film salary to Time's Up. 'Selena did donate more than she made on the Woody Allen movie,' a source told Us Weekly in January, two days after Chalamet announced his donation. 'Her donation was private. She did give a large donation weeks ago. She fully supports the movement.'
