Update 12 November: Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews have finally revealed the name of their newborn baby boy.

According to the Mail on Sunday, they have named him Arthur Michael William Matthews.

The name will be of great significance to the royal family, as Arthur is the middle name of Prince Charles, Prince Louis and Prince William.

The couple appear to have paid tribute to James' late brother Michael, who died aged 22 in 1999 after reaching the summit of Mount Everest. Michael is also the name of Pippa's father.

Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews have welcomed their first child together, it has been confirmed.

The couple welcomed a baby boy on Monday - the same day Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they were expecting their first child.

A spokesperson told HELLO!: 'James and Pippa have had a baby boy. He was born Monday 15th October at 1.58pm, weighing 8lb and 9oz. Everyone is delighted and Mother and baby are doing well.'

Hours after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their pregnancy news, Pippa Middleton ignited rumours that she may be in labour.

Yesterday afternoon, the 33-year-old and her husband, James Matthews, were spotted arriving at the Lindon Wing at St Mary's hospital, the same maternity ward that Kate Middleton delivered Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The entrepreneur was later seen following behind his heavily-pregnant wife of over a year - days after the pair attended Princess Eugenie's wedding - with two overnight bags in hand, as reported by the Daily Mail.

If the pair's appearance at the private maternity wasn't enough to sound the alarm about an imminent birth, Pippa hinted she was about to 'pop' in her latest column for Waitrose in which she discussed her final month of pregnancy.

In the column, published earlier this month, the writer and fitness lover wrote: 'The transformations to my body that are taking place as it prepares for childbirth have meant that the sound sleeps and the baby bubble effect have gone. Reality is finally kicking in.'

However, this isn't the first time the couple have been photographed visiting the Lindo Wing.

The pair - who married in May 2017 - were seen arriving at the hospital last week, suggesting they're tying up all the lose strings of Pippa's pregnancy before she is due to give birth, according to Harper's Bazaar.

It was previously reported Kate's sister is due to give birth in October.

Pippa's Lindo Wing visit follows the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will welcome the pitter patter of tiny feet in Spring 2019.
