Meghan Markle has given birth to a baby girl named Lilibet.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their second child into the world on Friday (June 4) at 11:40am in a hospital in Santa Barbara, California, according to a statement on their website Archewell.
The tot weighed 7 lbs 11 oz at the time of her birth and mother and child are said to be 'healthy and well, and settling in at home', according to the statement.
'This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.
'She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe. Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.'
The baby's arrival comes somewhat earlier than was expected, as Markle had revealed she was expecting her daughter in 'summertime' during her interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.
The child's birth date makes her a Gemini.
