Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith are officially the latest couple we're obsessed with (apologies, David Harbour and Lily Allen).

Since Usher's 40th birthday bash in October 2018, the Dawson Creek's actor and actor Turner-Smith – who has made her feature film debut as the female lead of Queen & Slim opposite Get Out's Daniel Kaluuya – have been dating.

Though the couple waited before commenting publicly on their relationship in the early days of their romance(bar a few vague Instagram posts), the pair have since confirmed that they are married and parents to a baby girl.

Jackson's red carpet appearance with Turner-Smith at the AFI FEST in November 2019 marked the first time he walked the red carpet with a 'significant other' since his split from actor Diane Kruger, with whom he was in a 10-year relationship and seemed very indifferent to marriage. He also previously dated ELLE UK's December cover star Katie Holmes.

Here's everything we know about Jodie and Joshua's relationship so far:

April 2023: Joshua Jackson on not being ready for marriage before meeting Jodie Turner-Smith

If you needed more proof that Little Fires Everywhere actor Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith's relationship deserves its own film plot, wait until you read the star's latest quotes during an interview with The Times. Jackson recently opened up about how Turner-Smith changed his view on marriage, explaining why he changed his mind on tying the knot: 'Partially, it's age. I'm old enough to be able to do this. Partially it's about finding somebody in the right moment of life.

'If we had met five years earlier we probably would have had a torrid affair, but all the rest of this stuff, I was just not ready. I didn't think I ever wanted to get married.'

Jackson was previously in a relationship with actor Diane Kruger for 10 years before splitting in 2016. He is believed to have met Turner-Smith through a mutual friend during a 2018 charity event, and married in 2019.

The post includes photos of the pair making their way to the fashion show, posing for the cameras dressed head-to-toe in Gucci, close-up details of Turner-Smith's outfits and make-up, as well as a hilarious video of her and Jackson in a lift.

'[sic]... look really f*cking good,' joked Jackson. 'I think we look more than pretty f*cking good,' replied Turner-Smith.

We couldn't agree more.

December 2021: Jodie Turner-Smith describes her labour as a 'cosmic psychedelic journey'

The model and actor, who welcomed a daughter named Janie with husband Joshua Jackson in 2020, recently told E! Online: 'It took me a very long time to give birth to my daughter, and I didn't do it with any medication.'

The Queen & Slim star explained how her childbirth experience helped her portray her character Anne Boleyn's pregnancy struggles in her recent period drama series of the same name. She said of her childbirth: 'So, in a sense it was like this cosmic psychedelic journey because your body is such a miraculous thing and it will do whatever it has to do to be able to process and understand whatever pain it is going through.'

When discussing scenes in the drama series, she also spoke of the pressures around mothers when it comes to work. 'There's so much pressure on women to just go back out there [after delivering], so I wanted to kind of speak to that,' she added.

Turner-Smith, who during her postnatal healing process was advised by her doula not to got downstairs for two weeks, also acknowledged the struggles that pregnant women in the bygone era had to go through.

'My ancestors were f*cking birthing in f*cking fields, and then going right back to work,' she said.

August 2021: Joshua Jackson Clarifies That There Were Two Proposals Between Him And Jodie Turner-Smith

Though just one month earlier Jackson explained how his now-wife Turner-Smith proposed to him on holiday in Nicaragua, he has now provided more information about the intimate moment clarifying that actually there were two proposals between the couple.

'I accidentally threw my wife under the bus because that story was told quickly and it didn't give the full context and holy Jesus, the internet is racist and misogynist,' Joshua told Refinery 29.

Confirming that the 'romantic' proposal from Turner-Smith did take place, Joshua then explained that there was another layer to the whole thing.

'What I didn't say in that interview was there was a caveat, which is that I'm still old school enough that I said, "This is a yes, but you have to give me the opportunity." She has a biological father and a stepdad, who's the man who raised her. [I said], "You have to give me the opportunity to ask both of those men for your hand in marriage." And then, "I would like the opportunity to re-propose those to you and do it the old fashioned way down on bended knee." So, that's actually how the story ended up.'

Joshua then doubled-down on the racist and sexist trolls who left spiteful comments on the British actresses' Instagram following the initial revelation about her proposal, affirming that it, again, taught him further lessons in the prejudices Black women face.

'For anybody who is freaked out by a woman claiming her own space, shut the f**k up. Good God, you cannot believe the things people were leaving my wife on Instagram. She did it. I said "yes." We're happy. That's it. That's all you need to know.

'That has been a real education for me as a white man, truly. The way people get in her comments and the ignorance and ugliness that comes her way is truly shocking. And it has been a necessary, but an unpleasant education in just the way people relate to Black bodies in general, but Black female bodies in specific. It is not okay. We have a long way to go.'

July 2021: Joshua Jackson discusses the moment her fell for Jodie Turner-Smith

Jackson has reflected on meeting Turner-Smith, revealing a love at first sight type of encounter which he says he can proudly tell their daughter about in the future.

'We were pretty much inseparable from the word go. It was a whirlwind romance and I can tell my daughter I literally saw her mother across a room and thought, "I have to be next to this woman,"' the Dawson's Creek alum told Mr Porter.

Jackson added that while he wasn't looking for anything serious, that swiftly changed when he met his wife.

'I was not looking to fall in love again or meet the mother of my child, but life has other plans for you.'

Providing a glimpse of their daughter's personality, Jackson explained that parts of his daughter's personality are emerging already: 'I can’t wait to take her scuba diving. I can’t wait to take her skiing. I can’t wait to read a great book with her. I’m not worried at all she’ll be a wallflower. She’s been a character from the word go.'

July 2021: Joshua Jackson reveals Jodie Turner-Smith proposed

During an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this week, Jackson spoke cleared up misconceptions over his engagement to Turner-Smith, revealing that she asked him to marry her.

‘I knew the moment she asked me,’ he admitted. ‘She asked me on New Year's Eve. We were in Nicaragua, it was very beautiful, incredibly romantic, we were walking down the beach, and she asked me to marry her.’

While the proposal surprised the star, he said saying ‘yes’ was the ‘best choice’ he’s ever made.

'There was like a preamble. There was a lead-up to it. '[Did I know it was coming?] I did not know, but she was quite adamant, and she was right. This is the best choice I ever made.'

Following the interview the actor tweeted: 'Thank you @jimmyfallon for having me on the show. And giving me the opportunity to clear up some misconceptions about my wedding proposal.'

Turner-Smith replied to a tweet of the interview: ‘What about the magic mushrooms @VancityJax?’

Joshua Jackson explains why he and Jodie Turner-Smith opted for a home birth

In a new interview with Esquire Jackson has opened up about the reason he and his wife decided to welcome their daughter, Janie, via an at-home birth, noting that it was the best way to ensure Smith's safety and support.

Jackson said that many pregnant women during the pandemic were required to give birth without their partners to minimise the Covid-19 transmission rate. However, the actor felt anxious at the thought of leaving his wife alone under the US health care system.

'The American medical system has a horrendous track record with Black women,' he stated.

'She wanted to be in a place where she was as comfortable as possible, understandably. And I wanted her to be in a place where she felt like she was being heard at every step along the way, rather than having to go through that filter of being a Black woman interfacing with the American medical system.'

'[Labour] is lonely at times, and scary at times, and also transcendental and beautiful, and you want to have your partner there. I'm grateful for every second I got to be a part of bringing our daughter into this world. It's a magical experience — we don't talk enough about the positives.'

In another interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor said of married life and fatherhood: 'There is nothing that is not better off than being married to her and having that baby. It's everything.

'I wanted to say congratulations to her. [Jodie] is in Cannes right now for the first time with her movie ... I wish I could be with you there, love.'

May 2021: Jodie Turner-Smith shares first meeting story with husband Joshua Jackson

Jodie Turner-Smith has shared some hilarious insight into the early days of her relationship with Joshua Jackson.

During an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, May 5 the Tom Clancy's Without Remorse star revealed that her relationship with Jackson was not initially meant to last long. 'When I first met my husband, we had a one-night stand,' she revealed before joking: 'We're in a two, three-year one-night stand now.'

Turner-Smith then explained how the pair met at a party, and how she played hard to get.

'First of all, I saw him before he saw me and when I saw him, I was like, "I want that",' she said. 'And then when he saw me, I just pretended like I didn't see him.'

'He had to yell across the room to me, and I was wearing this T-shirt from a movie called Sorry to Bother You and [actor] Tessa Thompson plays a character called Detroit, and she has this T-shirt that says The Future is Female Ejaculation.

'And so [Jackson] shouts across the room, "Detroit!"' she described. 'He comes over and... does this really cute, charming thing that he does and just all night— he just basically followed me around the party.'

Early on in their relationship, Turner-Smith detailed how Jackson had invited her to stay at his apartment when he wasn't there, which she did along with some friends to celebrate her birthday.

'There was a raiding of the closet and I know that one of these friends of mine stole his Late Night With Seth Meyers T-shirts,' she said, which prompted the TV host to pass her a replacement T-shirt for her beau.

The couple, who wed in 2019, share a one-year-old daughter Janie who they welcomed in April 2020.

April 2021: Jodie Turner Smith discusses marriage to Joshua Jackson

Turner Smith added that she appreciates being with someone who is in the industry and who can lend advice when she needs it too, saying she 'loves' picking his brain about acting.

The couple sound so happy, in fact, that they regularly celebrate the fact that they're together with a simple yet effective, high-five.

Now, the actress is discussing her experience of up motherhood in the middle of a global pandemic and the difficulties she's faced.

'Navigating parenthood at any time is difficult and it’s even more difficult without support, when everything is shut down and you can’t really see other people or go anywhere,' she recently told ELLE US.

However, she was quick to sympathise with mothers of older children during Covid-19 because that she's 'not having to sit on Zoom with her [daughter] and suddenly become her educator as well as her caretaker'.

On finding her inner strength, referring to childbirth, she noted: 'Patriarchal society really is out here, scamming women into thinking that they’re not supremely powerful beings.

'Because damn, it’s some goddess-level sh*t.'

‘So I was really excited when I came to America about meeting black people,’ she told the publication. ‘But it was a huge culture shock, because I was rejected by the black community. They were like, “You talk like a white girl”. People would call me an Oreo. All I wanted was acceptance’.

Following news that the couple picked up a marriage license in August last year, the actress continued to play off rumours circulating their official relationship status.

‘I haven’t said to anybody, “Yeah, we got married”,’ she said. ‘People are assuming whatever they want, but when people tell me “Congratulations”, I say “Thank you”.’

Discussing the prejudice she’s faced as a result of her relationship with Jackson, she said: ‘There was this wave of people who were upset that I was possibly married to a white man.

In America, interracial dating or marriage is not something that is as accepted. Certain people feel strongly against it, in both communities. I felt it from the black community. It is so complicated. I don’t want to give it too much energy. The horrific things that people were saying, it makes you. … I’m learning there are certain things I have to really keep for myself.’

On her romance with the Dawson’s Creek star, the actress said that they are ‘obsessed with each other’ and that she rewatches his films when they’re not together.
