You might have thought Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would have been too busy with their A-list guests on their wedding day, to think of their devoted fans.

However, the day before the couple’s second wedding anniversary on May 19, Royal wedding florist Philippa Craddock took to Instagram to share news of the sweet gesture the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made to churchgoers at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

On Monday, Craddock shared several photos of the archways she and her team created on the wedding day which features roses, peonies and foxgloves.

‘The five internal archways were my favourite designs,’ she revealed. ‘The inspiration came from the vaulted ceilings and the architectural detail, with the aim of working in perfect harmony with the space and bringing the outside in, reflecting the surrounding parkland.’

Describing the ‘gentle hum’ inside the Chapel as they created their designs, the florist wrote that her team ‘left the archways in place the following day, for the congregations to enjoy during the services’.

What a sweet gift to leave for local Windsor residents who regularly attend the Chapel's services!

Claire Ptak, the pastry chef who created the couple's wedding cake, has also reflected on her time working with the royals for their wedding.

For their big day, Ptak made a lemon and elderflower cake which is believed to have included 200 Amalfi lemons, 500 organic eggs from Suffolk, 20 kgs of butter, 20 kgs of flour, 20 kgs of sugar and 10 bottles of Sandringham elderflower cordial.

On Monday, she wished the couple a happy second anniversary on Instagram, revealing that her dream job ‘got even better’ on their wedding day.

‘My dream team,’ Ptak captioned a photo of her team who helped create the famous wedding cake.

‘Can’t believe this was two years ago. I love these bakers so much. It was an epic challenge and we nailed it,’ she shared.

Kensington Palace later announced that the cake’s flavour was intended to ‘incorporate the bright flavours of spring’.

The cake was covered in elderflower-infused Swiss meringue buttercream which Ptak previously described as ‘satiny and super delicious’, and 150 fresh flowers.

‘The texture is really lovely and the flavour is quintessentially spring and British,’ Ptak said in a video released by Kensington Palace days before the nuptials.
