Sophie Turner has extended her praise to Blake Lively after the actress opened up about feeling 'insecure' when she was told brands had no clothes available for her after she gave birth last year.

Lively welcomed her third child - believed to be called Betty after a name drop in a Taylor Swift song - with husband Ryan Reynolds in the autumn of 2019. The couple were already parents to two other daughters, James and Inez.

A few months after welcoming her third child, Lively was seen for the first time in months (having kept a low profile throughout her pregnancy) when she was on the press tour for her 2020 film The Rhythm Section.

Over the weekend, the mother-of-three star shared a series of throwback photos on her Instagram Stories from the tour, expressing her love for many of the outfits she wore during the press run (including a very Serena Van Der Woodsen-inspired shorts and coat look).

However, the last post in Lively's montage was a picture of the Gossip Girl alum appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Lively explained that her outfit for the TV appearance was one she fashioned together (a Lanvin shirt and Net-A-Porter dress) 'because no one had samples that fit me after giving birth and so many clothes from stores didn't fit either'.

Lively said not having any clothes available for her to wear left her feeling 'insecure' rather than proud of her body for creating, delivering and feeding her child.

'It doesn't send a great message to women when their bodies don't fit into what brands have to offer,' the 33-year-old wrote. 'It's alienating and confusing. And I wish I felt as confident then as I do now, a year later looking back.

'That body gave me a baby. And was producing that baby's entire food supply. What a beautiful miracle. But instead of feeling proud, I felt insecure. Simply because I didn't fit into clothes. How silly is that in retrospect.'

Lively's candid post reflecting on how insecure she was made to feel resonated with many people online, including fellow actor Turner, who gave birth to her first child, a daughter, with her husband Joe Jonas last summer.

Sharing a screengrab of an article detailing Lively's post, Turner wrote in capital letters: 'Yes Blake Lively one more time for the people in the back! [sic]'

Lively then returned the praise, thanking the 'Queen of the north' for her support on her Stories.
