Her Majesty is set to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee this year, which will involve several forms of celebrations. Firstly, the royal mark the occasion from May 12-15 with a 90-minute performance that included the help of actors, musicians, equestrians, performers and hundreds of horses.

There will also be a four-day Bank Holiday, from Thursday June 2 to Sunday June 5 in 2022. It means that the May bank holiday weekend in 2022 will be moved to Thursday June 2, instead of the usual Monday, and there will be an additional bank holiday on Friday June 3 to allow the nation to celebrate the occasion over a four-day weekend.

Announcing the news last June on the royal family’s official Twitter account, a spokesperson said: 'The weekend will provide an opportunity for communities across the UK to come together to celebrate this historic milestone.'

The record landmark will see the Queen become the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, having ascended to the throne at just 25-years-old in 1952.
