Normal People's Paul Mescal and Fleabag's Andrew Scott are set to collaborate for the first time in upcoming romance movie, All Of Us Strangers.

The film, which explores grief, loss and love, is loosely based on the 2004 English adaptation of Strangers, the psychological fiction novel by Japanese author Taichi Yamada originally published in 1987. Among the accolades that Strangers has won since its publication is the prestigious 1987 Yamamoto Shūgorō Prize for best human-interest novel.

Before the internet's two heartthrobs reunite on the silver screen, this is everything you need to know about the film.

What is All Of Us Strangers about?

The film, which is slightly different to the plot of the original book, tells the story of screenwriter Adam, played by Scott, who, one night in his towerblock in London, has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbour Harry, played by Mescal, which reroutes the course of his life.

As the pair grow closer, Adam discovers two people who look like his parents, played by The Crown's Claire Foy and Rocketman's Jamie Bell, who died over thirty years prior, living in his childhood house. As Adam begins to write about his parents, who died when he was twelve, he begins to piece together parts of the past he assumed he could leave buried and stowed away.
